The spacing on the mounting holes between the 250 and 300 is different by about 10mm and the hole for the sump plug is also not on the same side.

Howard from Scott adventure makes a nice aluminium bashplate for the 300l. Would probaly work on the rally as well. I bought one to put on my wife's 250l(Needed to drill some holes to fit it on the 250, but I knew that prior to purchasing)

Tracmac sells the Hiflo for R550 and Champion for R437. I wonder if the Champion would fit better. I notice they have a bmc filter for R1983! The bmc is washable. The stock Honda filter was R840 last time I bought.

Do you use the oem Honda air filter or Hiflo/Champion? Mine is due for replacement but the Honda air filter is expensive. I noticed someone mentioned that some of the aftermarket air filters has fitment issues.

I mention this because the first time I went to Honda to get service parts the guy told me they use 10w30 only in all their bikes, told me not to use 10w40, this made me wonder. Took a look on motul's oil selector the search also recommended 10w30 only. A online search showed most guys use...

I also use 10w40 in my wife's 250l. I wonder why Honda would specify to use 10w30 in these bikes, seems difficult to get except at Honda themselves and then at a price.
