Story of my 701...lets go!
I agree with you about the airbox Dan. I am rather going to get one of those red plastic fuel cans & fit it to the rear luggage rack for longer trips.

Story of my 701...lets go!
I bought my 701 from Noneking. It came pretty well kitted out luggage rack, hand guards etc. It is the 2016 model. Best thing I did was to do the O2 sensor removal. Pulls like a train from low speeds in 3rd gear.

My favourite at the moment is my Husky 701. I used to ride with the Maritzburg guys a bit. Mally and the crew. My shiftwork gets in the way though.

EssBee, the spot does basically belong to her. Had to coax her off with a dog biscuit. :)

De Vlugt and another gem.
Chris, I won't put my cockonablock, but that bolt does not look like an original BMW bolt.

Building a sort-of "replica" of the 1979 Dakar winning XT500.
I see on Google that the aftermarket shocks available from the UK have these metal cups.

The standard XT500 has the preload adjustment at the top, how these shocks are fitted. The genuine rear shock doesn't have that metal cap though.

KTM 690 - give it to me straight
Hi Noneking, I hope that you never saw any of these issues on trips with fuel pump or electrical on "our" 701?
