I must say, so far it is encouraging when I look at the number of years/mileage most had done, compared to serious injuries.
Unfortunately a fair share seem to be caused by another party, which can not be prevented to a large degree
I will keep riding, but possibly even more carefully...
Yeah, a peaked adventure helmet all the way - for the sun mainly
But I hate the buffeting and wind noise, not helped by my height on the bike, so have touring screens on the 950 and XChallenge -> then wind is zero issue

1. Total number of years riding - 6
2. No. of falls or accidents that lead to injuries that kept you of a bike for a while, required proper recovery/operations/etc - 2
3. Nature of injuries - broken foot when I fell in our driveway with my MTX50; buggered...
We all know, as per the current "nasty accident" thread that our sport/hobby/passion is not exactly the safest out there - accidents/falls and injuries are common.

The way I read it is he saw the previous car overtake and saw the wide yellow barrier lines as a "reasonable" space to overtake - and pinned it to get past quickly. Then he sees the truck in front start moving over into the barrier lines, and drifts further inward himself to avoid that truck...

I drove north on Carl Cronje around 19:40 last night, and before and under the the N1 bridge crossing Carl Cronje there were about 50+ bikers parked at the side of the road and under the bridge, with traffic police all over and cars backed up.
Any idea what that was about?
When my dad did his 1st ever learners license at 71 he was also the oldest there by far - got the highest mark in the group and the instructor said to everyone " Now tháts how you do it!". 😄
He is due to go and get his proper license soon, and contemplating doing a solo ride from CT to Empangeni...
Im also on my 2nd learners, but need to do my lisence asap to carry a pillion legally and just remove the schlepp of writing a learners again
And I see the waiting time at Brackenfell is just 3 days - but i need a bit more time to get my ducks in a row 😄
