Nasty crash in the Eastern Cape

Thanks. I couldn't see clearly on the phone what or who went where. The bike coming back like that I find amazing. Imagine the forces required to make that happen.

I am no expert and therefore my surprise I suppose, but I can hardly believe the bike/rider come back like that. I really would have thought the rider would be launched over the car.

Nah! Dorna I always to blame! 😜

First off, I believe nobody deserves to die because he made a serious error in judgement. The death is no less tragic because of that, but overtaking on a barrier line, on a blind corner is a huge and usually reckless mistake.

Nasty crash in the Eastern Cape

I honestly do not understand why people do it. It must be one of the most dangerous things you can do on the road. Two of the most horrific accidents I saw (only the aftermath thankfully) was around the Bapsfontein area. Barrier line ignored. In one three people dead, in the other 5. 😢

I knew it! Spanish Mafia involved in our Superbru! Why else would 40 or 50% of my selected riders crash? Why? Huh! Why? Barstewards obviously give underspec tyres to my guys! 😝

It seems the barrier line is regarded as a decoration by many. ☹️

I'd love to be a fly on the pit wall at Mugello this week as both Yamaha and Honda are running private tests there.

I also rate Enea very high, but Ducati is in die conundrum. They cannot afford to loose Martin. I believe they cannot afford to loose Enea either, but Ducati probably doesn't see it that way. Enea moving to another make may be good for him as he is currently in a Pecco, Martin, Marquez shadow...

Interesting. Apparently MM said during an interview that he does not care about the brand or the colour, he just wants an official bike.

They stopped doing burnouts when engines became limited per season though.

Enea. Interesting rider. Possibly the most underrated on the grid currently. Why? I have no idea. The year (2022) he was selected for the Factory ride by Ducati he finished 3rd in the championship (Martin was 7th or 8th). The following year (2023), in the 1st sprint of the year, he suffered...

I have to differ on Ducati making a mistake with Enea over Jorge. Enea was way more consistent but we couldn't see him perform on the factory Ducati his first year there due to that horrific crash. I believe the choice was the correct one at the time. Mistake or not, Enea is out. So far this...

I think Enea will be dumped and Ducati would be beyond stupid to not sign Martin. Enea to Pramac? Only if a Pramac doesn't jump ship, but even if they don't they have Morbidelli and Aldeguar, so will need to dump Morbidelli. But that is not all folks! 😜 If they don't give MM a factory bike...

Time have changed. I did a quick check. Best Honda Zarco was in 12th place, 26,8s behind the winner. I doubt anyone could have gone that 26,8s faster, but look at this. This is where that 27s would have placed him in years gone by. 2024: 12th 2014: 11th 2004: 6th 1994: 6th 1984: 4th 1974: 4th

Yeah. I have seen that too, but I am not sure that is still possible these days. When you have a grid where the first 18 or do are covered by just 1s, it seems impossible to me. Having just said, it seems impossible, I suppose it is not impossible. If that makes any sense.

Martin is super fast, no doubt. I am just not sure how fast on a struggling bike, or whether he will be a good development rider. He also over-rides the bike, but gets away with it at Ducati. So, I don't see him doing well at Honda. Ducati will be insane if they do not keep him in the fold and...

That makes sense. The only question is, will a rider like Martin be able to be fast on the Honda as it is now.

My apologies. That was not how I read it. My bad. I don't get it though. If MM couldn't make the Honda work, why do you believe Martin would?
