Where to start with this Montagu “barn find”. Let us start from the beginning.
When I was 16, my parents gifted me a Suzuki Wolf 50cc to do the school runs. My school was a good 20 km away from home and no direct public transport.
Using the bike daily for school, weekends was off to the beach with my board strapped over my shoulder and trying not to crash with the wind flapping the board all over the place was always an event. So many memories, good, bad, frustration but looking back, its one of those things which does not hold value but never should have sold her.
A friend up in Montagu, we will call him Mr BB both 2 project bikes for his and his son (Master Y’ny) to work on. First being a Suzuki Wolf 125 cc and the second being an RGT 125cc.
They were able to make 1 working bike out of the two and we had a few rides together. Since then, Master Y’ny has gotten a bit older and progressed to a KLR 650. Thus, I had been toying with the idea, mostly for nostalgia reasons, to get a wolf back up and running.
After losing too many sleepless nights wondering if this would make a good decision, I decided to go with the heart as I know I will not make money back on this project. But that is not why we do these things, right?
The decision was made, discussions were had and agreements were reached. Off to Montagu we go.
